RH Factor Biography

Kevin Hultberg brings many assets to RH Factor. This veteran musician and performer also knows his way around the recording studio. Hultberg began his career as a founding member of X-it in the late 1980's. He supplied bass guitar and backing vocals for both of the band's independent releases Rockintoxication and Ragin'. Vocally, Kevin's range and timbre are reminiscent of John Wetton, Greg Lake, Graham Bonnett and Sting. While vocals are usually the weakest link in progressive music, Kevin is able to add two and three-part harmonies in the studio to his strong main vocal line. Kevin played a big part in arranging and producing all the songs that you hear on RH Factor, and he has also lent his talents to other projects as well. Kevin is a gifted lyricist with a keen ear for melody, as is evident on songs like "Behold The Blue Sky" and "Sign Of A Mystic Moon". Years of musical lessons have paid off, and RH Factor is lucky to have this musical genius in their corner.

Chris Rodler is RH Factor's utility man, playing many positions equally well. Rack up one more RBI for Chris, whose perseverance has allowed another fine album to come to fruition. In addition to adding tasty lead and rhythm guitar tracks to the RH Factor disc, Chris is the proud owner of the Fortress, the studio in which RH Factor and other regional talents record. Chris invests all of his hard earned money into recording equipment so his fans can experience the full aural thrill of RH Factor. Along with his younger brother Brett, Chris is also one of the founding members anmd keyboardist of Leger de Main. Leger, which formed in 1989, has released two CD's, The Concept Of Our Reality and Second First Impression. Chris is the man who answers all of your letters and fills all the domestic and overseas mail-order requests, and he also distributes product for regional prog-rock bands.

Brett Rodler brings brain and brawn to RH Factor. This extraordinary percussionist has impeccable taste and timing, and his rhythmic sense knows no bounds. Brett is the youngest member of RH Factor, but is equally as experienced as his peers. Brett is the master of odd times, polyrhythms and meter modulation. He is adept at picking the best tempo and time changes to fit within the context of each song. Brett is over qualified for the role of the rock solid time keeper for RH Factor. It is amazing to witness his technical prowess and physical agility behind the kit, and even more of a treat to hear it on the RH Factor disc. Initially, Brett was influenced by bands such as Megadeth and Slayer; he soon found solace in the inventive drumming of King Diamond's Mickey Dee. From there, he discovered Dream Theater, Fates Warning and Rush. "Mark Zonder totally altered the way I looked at a drum set," said Brett. In the past five years, Brett has come to appreciate drummers such as Masayuki Muraishi, Simon Phillips and Dave Weckl. Currently, Brett is expanding his musical horizons by taking piano lessons, which you may hear on the next RH Factor album or on one of the other projects that he is involved in.
